Our First Winner for the Create Animation Contest is Prasad Sharad Kelkar
My name is Prasad Sharad Kelkar. I graduated from the Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Art, in the year 2004.
After graduation I worked in the E-learning industry for almost 3 years in the area of animation and illustration. I am currently working as a Motion graphics designer in Mumbai. I love the whole process of Animation, from story-telling to execution. I also enjoy Illustration, Character Design and Story Boarding. It is an absolute delight to explore different mediums in animation. And I really enjoy what I do.
Here, my concept is “DO THE NEW”. In this particular project, first I created a few characters using all the DOCOMO letters. And then I wrote stories for all of them, after that I selected someof the stories for animation.
The challenge was to narrate the complete story within the time frame and also to sync it with the existing soundtrack that I somehow managed to do well. I tried to make the overall animation as cute as possible in a way that would be suitable for the DOCOMO brand.
This story is about a Little Duckling who is the youngest among his all his siblings. He is different. He always stays behind because he is a bit timid and shy.
On fine day, the Mother Duck takes all her ducklings to the pond. She jumps into the pond and all the ducklings follow her in the water. Except the Little Duckling who stays back as usual. But later, he does something that not only surprises himself but others too. He “does the new”.
